Hematology Physiology

Carbohydrates, lipids, heme derivatives, biochemical theory, test interpretation, and disease correlation. 10–15% of exam.

Hematology Disease States

Disorders of red cells, white cells, and platelets including quantitative and qualitative abnormalities. 20–25% of exam.

Hematology Laboratory Testing

CBC interpretation, morphology, indices, special stains, flow cytometry, molecular and cytogenetic testing. 20–25% of exam.

Hemostasis

Coagulation pathways, vascular function, bleeding disorders, and laboratory testing. 20–25% of exam.

Laboratory Operations

Quality control, troubleshooting, safety, instrumentation, regulations, and laboratory math. 15–20% of exam.
